Buddhism originated in ancient India some at around 6th centuries B.C. Buddhism is about following the preachings of Lord Buddha. Buddhism has spread across the Indian sub-continent and propagated into Central, Southeast, and East Asia.Buddhism is followed in countries like Bhutan,Burma,China,Korea,Japan,India,Malaysia,Thailand. Buddhism has given the world the tradition of Monastery and monks.

| Origin Of Buddhism |
| The origin of Buddhism dates back to the date of prince Siddhartha who later came to be known as Gautam Buddha. He was born in a royal family at the Lumbini Garden in Kapilavastu.He was moved by the sights of ailment and suffering of people.So he left his family,home and all wordly pleasures and wandered in search of truth. He got enlightenment under a banyan tree now known as Maha Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya and then he started his preachings. Any individual who without the guidance of others, becomes awakened to the principles of the Dharma, is called Buddha.Buddhist believe that man takes many forms before getting the birth of Human.Those life in the previous birth could be in the form of animals.There are various tales of the previous birth which are compiled under Jataka tales.
Buddhism is a path of practice and spiritual development leading to close into the true nature of life. Their practices such as meditation and chanting hymns are means of changing oneself in order to develop the qualities of kindness and wisdom. They believe in rolling the wheel of peace.The experience developed within the Buddhist tradition over thousands of years has created a resource for all those who wish to follow a path which ultimately bolis down to the absolute enlightenment or Nirwana.
Now Buddhism continues to attract followers all across the world, and with around 400 million followers, it is considered as a major religion of the world. Buddhism transcribes the four truths which cause suffering. The scripture mentions the eight fold path following which a person can achieve Nirwana or absolute enlightenment.It also lists down the factors of Enlightenment.
